300 MPG Carburetor

Item: #0495583
Dating: 1935
Method of Containment: Small crates (for numerous models)
Status: Safe, SUPRESSED. Not to be seen by public.
Classification: Mechanical/Combustion
Aquired: 1935 (operatives ongoing) - Winnipeg, Canada. All subsequent versions have been confiscated as well, inventors . . . silenced.
Operating on the "Pogue" principle (U = q + w) this non-descript piece of machinery was initially invented by one Charles Nelson Pogue of Winnipeg, Canada. It has been "discovered" many times since then and modified, enhanced, and altered. Current versions operate around the "venturi vortex" system to produce better combustion. Deemed by this office to be "Dangerous" if in the hands of the public as it could seriously jeopardize the profitary value of fossil fuels. May be commissioned (by the DoD or this office) to select Government vehicles equipped with the necessary destruct sequences.

From: Charles Pogue did claim to invent such a device in 1935. Tests came up considerably short - 35 mpg. Stories first appeared about 1948 and the conspiracy theories never run dry, especially during a fuel crisis.
